Eastern Alloys Selects Eka’s Next-Gen CTRM Software

The metal company to deploy the commodity management solution for the processing of scrap metal into ingots

Eastern Alloy has selected Eka Software Solutions’ next-generation CTRM software solution for trading, position, risk, production scheduling, inventory management, assay management, and tolling of its metals operations.

All six of the Eastern Alloys family of companies will implement Eka’s advanced solution for metals management. Along with Eastern Alloys, the group of companies includes: Service Aluminum Corp.; Eastern Alloys of Kentucky, LLC; EA Aluminum Corp.; EA Raw Materials Corp.; and Wheel Recovery Systems LLC. The Eastern Alloys group buys and trades scrap aluminum and manufactures zinc alloys for die casting, foundry, and steel coating products used in the automotive and other industries. Serving North America, South America, and Asia, the Eastern Alloys group of companies has four facilities in North America including the most technologically advanced, green site, zinc alloy manufacturing and recycling facility in the world.

“The fact that Eka’s solution is completely integrated with Microsoft Dynamics NAV made our decision easy. With a single platform that includes all front, middle, and back office functions, everyone has the information needed to best perform their roles,” said Dick Bauer, CEO at Eastern Alloys.

Eastern Alloys will use InSight CM – Metals, a comprehensive solution for managing the metals supply chain across base metals, ferro alloys, steel, and scrap. The next-generation CTRM software provides real-time data to help metals manufacturers, miners, refiners, and smelters make decisions regarding buying, selling, hedging, processing, and moving metals.

“In competitive evaluations, Eka is a natural choice for metals companies such as Eastern Alloys looking for the most functional end-to-end solution on the market,” said Wah Chu, VP Global Services & Support at Eka. “To remain competitive in today’s volatile commodities markets, manufacturing companies need an advanced system to effectively handle commodity risk. We are pleased to welcome Eastern Alloys as a new customer.”
