IDBI Bank appoints Nehal Shah as Deputy CTO

IDBI Bank appointed Nehal Shah as Deputy CTO. Before this, he was JVP & Head-Consumer Bureau / Financial Inclusion IT at TransUnion CIBIL Limited. He was earlier associated with HSBC Global Technology India. 

Shah’s background includes extensive experience in leading significant IT projects, particularly in areas like digital transformation, integration of major banks, managing mission-critical initiatives, and orchestrating substantial product launches.

 In his new capacity at IDBI Bank, Nehal Shah will be responsible for overseeing the digital channels and IT security of the bank. This encompasses a range of aspects, such as ATM operations, internet banking, mobile banking, point of sale (POS) systems, UPI (Unified Payments Interface), IMPS (Immediate Payment Service), and more. His primary objective is to reinforce the bank’s digital ecosystem and implement rigorous security protocols.

 Shah underscores his deep commitment to his team, highlighting his strong belief in their well-being and growth, and his empathetic approach. Prior to joining IDBI, Shah held positions at TransUnion CIBIL as Joint Vice President and earlier at HSBC, where he successfully delivered multi-year IT programs. During his tenure at TransUnion, he pioneered the development of a comprehensive release framework, the Aadhaar Data Vault, and led numerous mission-critical projects. 

At HSBC, he led diverse, multicultural teams across different geographical regions to execute digital transformation initiatives, oversee mergers involving major banks, implement SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication) systems, and drive ATM and internet banking projects.
