Veeam Launches Intelligent ResOps to Strengthen AI Governance and Precision Recovery

New capabilities help enterprises track AI agents, reduce Microsoft 365 storage costs and improve data governance, with additional integrations entering private preview.

Veeam Software has announced the general availability of Veeam Intelligent ResOps for Microsoft 365, expanding its data resilience portfolio to address emerging risks as AI agents increasingly interact with enterprise information. The company has also opened private previews of Intelligent ResOps for Veeam Data Platform and Okta.

The new offering, available as an add-on to Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365, helps organisations identify AI agents, understand their access to sensitive information, detect changes to files and reverse unintended modifications or deletions. It also identifies redundant, obsolete and trivial data, helping businesses reduce storage costs and assess compliance exposure.

“For twenty years, the resilience question was simple: Can I recover? In the agentic AI era, the question is whether you can determine precisely what was affected, who or what touched it, and how to return precisely to a trusted state,” said Anand Eswaran, CEO of Veeam.

“In the agentic AI era, organisations need to know precisely what changed, what was affected and how to restore a trusted state.”

The platform connects production data with backup context through its DataAI Command Graph, providing visibility into data, users, permissions, AI-agent activity and protection status. This is intended to help organisations identify coverage gaps, prioritise critical information and accelerate recovery.

The launch comes amid growing enterprise adoption of AI agents. According to Veeam’s Data Trust & Resilience Report 2026, 88% of organisations are using or piloting AI agents, while only 7% qualify as truly AI-ready. The report also states that more than 82% of enterprises have unknown AI agents operating in their IT environments.

Veeam is extending the approach to identity resilience through its Okta integration, which supports point-in-time recovery of identity objects and relationships. Private previews for GitHub, Azure DevOps and Google IAM are planned for the fourth quarter of 2026.

The Microsoft 365 offering is available in Foundation and Advanced editions, including through Veeam Cloud & Service Providers.
