Stormshield and Gemalto Join Forces

to Increase the Protection of Data Exchanges for Mobile Devices

Stormshield and Gemalto have shaken hands to strengthen their technological relationship with the development of this technology capable of providing end-to-end security for the connection and data exchanges with mobile devices. This new development will allow users of tablets and smartphones to exchange email message securely and to protect their data on tablets on the move.

By 2020 it is estimated that 1.2 billion tablets will be in use and 70% of the world’s population will have smartphones. Bluetooth and NFC allow organizations that need to ensure the security and integrity of sensitive data with advanced solutions, to provide the most commonly used means for authentication and data exchanges between these devices.

Stormshield and Gemalto have developed this security technology that enables secure connections for all mobile devices within an enterprise to easily exchange data. Stormshield Data Security for Cloud & Mobility enables users to share and store data in a collaborative environment on all existing media and applications. The solution integrates with Gemalto’s SafeNet MobilePKI to provide strong PKI-based authentication and secure access for applications on any device.

SafeNet MobilePKI uses Bluetooth Smart technology to enable mobile devices to communicate securely with PKI smartcards. As a result, organizations can more fully realize the benefits afforded by their mobile applications, and at the same time consistently safeguard integrity and trust with their strong Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) environments.

“We are proud to work with Gemalto and thus enhance PKI security for our solution,” said Pierre Calais, CEO of Stormshield. “The Safenet MobilePKI solution embedded in the Stormshield Data Security for Mobility application thus provides optimum end-to-end data security without deploying any additional infrastructure.”

“Mobility is paramount for the success of businesses, and the requirements for secure authentication and digital signature are increasingly important to assure the integrity of digital interactions,” said Francois Lasnier, SVP Identity Protection at Gemalto. “The relationship with Stormshield is a continuation of our work to extend authentication and PKI security solutions to mobile devices.”
