India Among Top 5 Countries in Ransomware Radar

India in fact takes the 1st spot in the list of countries that were attacked by Teslacrypt ransomware in March-May 2016

India stands among 5 countries to have suffered from Ramsomware attacks. At the CISO meet organized by Kaspersky Lab, which was attended by 20 CISO’s from leading corporates belonging to verticals including BFSI, IT&ITES, Manufacturing, Telecom, etc.. Vitaly Kamluk – Director, Global Research & Analysis Team, APAC said, “Our researchers have found India to be among the top 5 countries in the world to be attacked by Ransomware. India in fact takes the 1st spot in the list of countries that were attacked by Teslacrypt ransomware in March-May 2016 and ranked 4th in the countries that was attacked by Locky ransomware during the same period. Ransomware is a type of malware that prevents or limits users from accessing their system. This is an alarming situation and needs to be addressed.”
