Veteran IT leader to drive digital transformation and cybersecurity strategy
Aster DM Healthcare has appointed Sudeep Dey as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), effective August 1, 2025. With more than 25 years of experience in healthcare IT leadership, Dey will oversee Aster’s digital transformation journey while strengthening its cybersecurity framework.

Prior to joining Aster, Dey served as President IT & CIO at Healthcare Global Enterprises (HCG), where he spearheaded several digital and clinical innovations. His initiatives included the integration of AI-powered risk prediction tools, conversational AI platforms for patient engagement, and advanced clinical informatics systems. He also championed change-management practices that improved adoption of technology across clinical and operational teams.
Before his tenure at HCG, Dey held senior technology leadership roles at Fortis Healthcare, Godfrey Phillips, and Oracle Financial Services, where he worked on IT governance, enterprise automation, cloud strategy, and process re-engineering.
An award-winning professional, Dey was recognised as one of Accelerator X Awardees and India’s CIO Next 100 in 2024 for his contributions to digital innovation. He is also a regular thought leader at industry forums, having moderated and participated in panels at the Digital Health Network Forum in Delhi and Bengaluru, addressing topics like AI readiness, interoperability, and patient data privacy.
Dey’s academic background includes a degree in Physics from Ch. Charan Singh University, a PGDBA in Finance from Symbiosis, and certifications from Harvard, Stanford, Johns Hopkins, and the University of Pennsylvania in AI, digital transformation, risk & compliance, and fintech.
At Aster DM Healthcare, Dey’s dual CIO–CISO role signals the organisation’s commitment to integrating innovation with robust security. His focus areas will include accelerating AI-driven clinical informatics, enhancing data governance, strengthening security controls, and streamlining digital workflows to improve patient care delivery.
