Data centre leader drives sustainability, social inclusion, and governance across its operations in FY 2024-25
Gurugram, India – Nxtra Data Limited (“Nxtra by Airtel”), a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel, has released its Sustainability Report for FY 2024-25, outlining its progress in building intelligent, scalable, and sustainable digital infrastructure.
The report highlights Nxtra’s performance across three key pillars: environmental responsibility, social inclusion, and governance. The company achieved 188,507 tCO₂e in emission reductions, representing a 15% improvement compared to the previous year. Nearly half (49%) of the energy consumed across its core data centre facilities came from renewable sources, further cementing Nxtra’s commitment to cleaner energy.

Nxtra also contracted 482,800 MWh of renewable energy, three times higher than its 2021 baseline, and reduced its average Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) by 10%. In social initiatives, the NxtWave program increased female workforce representation by 130%, supporting women in engineering roles across its operations. Employee engagement scored 85/100, while 99% of suppliers were India-based, and ESG assessments were conducted for 98% of strategic suppliers, demonstrating supply chain sustainability.
Nxtra has prioritized operational safety, recording 6.15 million safe person-hours in construction, alongside advanced AI-driven energy efficiency measures that optimize facility performance.
