Konica Minolta Becomes More Relevant to Govt. and PSUs

Launches 11 new models with Linux OS and Low Energy Consumption features

Konica Minolta gives Govt. and PSUs strong reasons buy its newly launched MFDs as the company has launched a host of new products with Linux OS driver. Earlier Konica Minolta printers were coming with Windows OS driver, which were not able to address the govt., PSU and govt. aided organization which are predominantly Linux market. The new products include bizhub 165e/185e, bizhub 206/226, bizhub 227/287/367, bizhub C227, bizhub C368 / C308/ C258 series of color & monochrome Multi-functional products (MFP-print, copy, scan and fax all in one system) not only comes with drives for Linux but also for Windows. Adopting Konica Minolta’s INFO-Palette design for multi-touch functionality, these latest MFPs include a variety of new features to increase productivity, overall versatility and energy savings. Highlight of these features cloud be NFC compatibility, reverse automatic document feeding and direct to print from the smartphones.

As per Balakrishnan, Executive General Manager (EGM), Konica Minolta Business Solutions Pvt Ltd., said, “These products are manufactured using recycled plastic and the company’s India development centre has a lot to do with the firmware and software that go into these machines.”
As per him these machines are designed such way that those can consume less power compare to its competition products.

Giving a perspective of the company’s growth in India, Yuji Nakata, MD, Konica Minolta Business Solutions Pvt Ltd said, “Konica Minolta is 3rd largest printer company in A3 mono segment and No.1 company in A3 colour segment.” And the aggressive strategy in the market in the past years have enabled the company to grow 20% year over year in India, which is better than others.”

Mr. Nakata also attributed the success of the company to its 170 dedicated partners operational in 44 locations, number of which is growing and 200 engineers who are working relentless to solve customer challenges.
Taking the opportunity, Konica Minolta also announced the launch of bizhub PRO 1100, a monochrome production printer. The bizhub PRO 1100 has a lot to offer: new applications and functions, a faster turnaround time, a colour scanner and a flexible Open API interface – all helping to handle the wide variety of frequently changing on-demand jobs of internal and external print shops. It can handle the demands of any production environment.
