GEC 2014 Garners Great Appreciation From Industry

Players from 15 countries battle it on the golf ground; top enterprise leaders awarded

11 October 2014 was a special day for the enterprises of the Middle East region when they gathered to celebrate a day of golfing, networking, recognition of excellence and undiluted fun. GEC 2014 opened with excited golfers from fifteen different countries, widely spread out verticals like IT, finance, trading, healthcare, education, aviation etc. gathering at The Address, Montgomerie, Dubai. The players were excited to be playing alongside supporting a noble cause of Breast Cancer Awareness (GEC had partnered with Breast Cancer Arabia Foundation). The prospects of CSR along with branding opportunities and a platform for pre-Gitex networking were enough to keep the enterprises glued to the event. The tournament was a grand success, with winners spanning various backgrounds as diverse as the colours in the melting pot of Dubai.

As the sun faded giving way to the evening, the enterprises gathered near the beautiful pool at The Address to celebrate the recognition of excellence in the IT enterprise sector. The Awards were given in different categories like top solution vendors, top partners, top VADs, and apart from that, awards were also given for the top CSR and top Green Initiative which were won by Canon ME and Gulf Air respectively. GCAA won the award for the top CIO of the region, the award went to Eng. Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi. The pool ambience was further beautified by the tunes of the beautiful violinist who left no strings untouched to ensure that the success didn’t get lost in noise. The event was one of its kind since this is the first time that the enterprises of the region came together in a beautiful synergy of sports, technology, networking and relaxation. And for the GITEX ready enterprises, it was the best stamina building exercise they could have had.
