Cyber Security Expert Trishneet Arora calls on Arun Jaitley for cashless, digital economy, Govt emphasizes on the need for cyber security,

The Union Government’s vigorous drive towards cashless economy in India has brought the focus to another key area of cyber security. The government is believed to be pushing hard towards ensuring cyber security for cashless economy as the bulk of the transactions in business is set to shift to digital.

These are some of the impressions which young cyber security expert Trishneet Arora came away with after his half an hour’s informal interaction with the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, widely believed to be the brain behind the thrust towards using digital option to ensure greater tax compliance. The Government has woken up to the need for greater awareness of web security in India in the wake of the massive digitization process underway in the country.

Sharing his views with Trishneet Arora, Jaitley said that a secure IT infrastructure is imperative for the nation now. Jaitley said that the government would encourage all legitimate enterprise, including startups, in the cyber security field.

The Finance Minister said this when Trishneet Arora, CEO, TAC Security called on him at the former’s New Delhi residence to apprise him of the developments taking place in the country in the field of cyber security. Trishneet hails from Punjab, the state where Jaitley has ancestral roots and from where he had contested for his Lok Sabha election during the last parliamentary elections in the country. Mr. Arora brought up the issue of giving users a safe and secure experience of the cyber world in the emerging scenario. This had become important in the light of the demonetization initiative and the resultant increase in the usage of digital currency and mobile wallets. These developments had amplified cyber security risks and incidences of attacks.

Trishneet Arora, CEO of TAC Security–the cyber-security solutions provider, later thanked Mr. Jaitley for a receptive and sympathetic ear from India’s new age Finance Minister.

Sharing his experience of meeting with the Finance Minister, Arora said, “The Government’s twin initiative to promote fresh Indian talent in startups, especially in the domain of cyber security and catching them young, would help curb cyber-attack incidences in the country. We are indebted to the Finance Minister for paying due attention to the cyber security concerns. He said that attack vectors have burgeoned, as is evidenced by the recent ATM frauds and Twitter hacks that were led by Legion.” Arora said that the Government’s decision to encourage and support young talents to lead India’s war against cybercrime would put India ahead of others in the cyber security field.

Giving details of new developments in the field, Arora said, “Recently, our specially designed service, ‘TAC-CERT (Cyber Emergency Response Team)’ received more than 50 hacking incident reports in a month.Hacking queries included a total of 7 DDoS attacks, 12 E-mail Hacks, 24 Ransomware attacks, 4 Financial Frauds through email and 6 website hacking across verticals such as export companies, pharmaceutical companies, IT Companies, manufacturer of electrical parts and a Hospital. This shows how vulnerable we are as a nation.” he added.

He said, TAC Security is on a mission to anticipate, resolve and mitigate customers’ cyber security risks and challenges so as to make their data and information world safe, secure and seamless.
