New features allow secure use of ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and other AI tools while maintaining regulatory compliance and data privacy

eScan has launched a significant update to its Enterprise Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solution, addressing one of today’s most urgent enterprise security concerns — the risk of sensitive data leakage through AI platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and GROK.

With AI tools becoming mainstream in workplaces, employees often upload documents, emails, and other proprietary data for summarization, analysis, or grammar checking. While these actions boost productivity, they inadvertently expose confidential data to global cloud environments and potential AI model training risks.

“Enterprises should not have to choose between security and innovation.” — Govind Rammurthy, CEO, eScan

“AI tools significantly enhance productivity, but they also introduce new avenues for data leakage — challenges that traditional security measures are not equipped to address,” said Shweta Thakare, Global VP – Sales and Marketing, eScan.

The enhanced eScan DLP solution now includes advanced features such as:

  • Content-aware filtering, watermarking, OCR scanning
  • Shadow copying, encryption, real-time user activity monitoring
  • AI-aware traffic analysis to detect and block unauthorized data uploads
  • Granular controls over USBs, file transfers, and browser extensions
  • Integration with Active Directory, CASB, and SIEM platforms

The system works seamlessly across web and app-based AI platforms, helping enterprises implement selective usage policies instead of outright bans. This enables organizations to maintain data sovereignty and compliance, especially in regulated industries like BFSI, healthcare, and legal services.

The updated solution is available for existing and new enterprise customers.
