Cashfree Payments elevates senior leadership; intends to unlock next level of growth

Cashfree Payments appointed Arun Tikoo as Chief Business Officer (CBO) and Ramkumar Venkatesan as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). The appointments were announced by the company as it gears up for its next phase of growth. The changes in the leadership team are expected to help the company accelerate its innovation and  growth. In addition, there have been additional internal promotions across roles in the organisation to support the company’s strategic plans.

Cashfree Payments has been making significant strides in addressing the challenges facing the industry through technology and continuous innovation. The company has been consistently improving its product offerings to cater to the ever-evolving needs of its customers and provide them with an exceptional experience on its platform. 

Arun Tikoo, who was previously SVP-Business and Strategy, has been appointed as CBO. In his new role, Arun will be responsible for spearheading growth, partnerships, products, and expansion into newer markets. He will handle strategic partnerships, go-to-market plans, and will be responsible for the company’s development and growth, including market penetration and development on a global scale. Arun will also be responsible for strengthening the existing distribution network across industries and overseeing compliance, pricing, and operational setups of new product launches. He brings over 20 years of experience in Digital Banking, Payments, Trade Forex, Sales Execution across Wholesale Banking, Retail Banking, and Startups. Prior to Cashfree Payments, he has worked with organisations like SBI, Yes Bank, ICICI Bank, and HDFC Bank in various capacities.

Ramkumar Venkatesan, who was previously SVP-Engineering, has been elevated to the position of CTO. In his new role, he will be responsible for leading the organisation’s technology, engineering, and innovation strategies, coordinating them with larger business objectives. He will be in charge of seamless technological and product integration, as well as the company’s infrastructure, security, engineering, and product development. With over 20 years of experience in ad-tech, big data, e-commerce, and database technology spanning various geographies, Ramkumar has worked with organisations like Oracle, Yahoo, and Informatica in different capacities.

Recently, India’s largest lender, SBI invested in Cashfree Payments underscoring the company’s role in building a robust payments ecosystem. Cashfree Payments works closely with all leading banks to build the core payments and banking infrastructure that powers the company’s products and is also integrated with major platforms such as Shopify, Wix, Paypal, Amazon Pay, Paytm and Google Pay. Apart from India, Cashfree Payments products are used in eight other countries including the USA, Canada and UAE.
