Brocade Names Swapna Bapat as India Director of Systems Engineering

Newly created role to lead development of best practices in india for data center and software networking

Brocade has named Swapna Bapat to the newly created role of director of Systems Engineering for India. In this role, she will be responsible for leading the company’s technical developments in data center and software networking, as well as developing best practices and excellence for systems engineering in India.

Bapat will be based in Bangalore, India, and will report to Brocade senior director of Systems Engineering for Asia Pacific (APAC), Orcun Tezel.

Bapat brings more than 16 years of experience in the networking industry to Brocade, with a remarkable track record in conceptualizing, developing, and deploying products and solutions in both the service provider and enterprise markets. She was most recently with Cisco India, where she was responsible for charting the go-to-market strategy for the Enterprise Networking portfolio.

Prior to Cisco India, Bapat held technical leadership roles at Alcatel Lucent, Ciena, and Juniper Networks, where she drove market adoption for various technologies including IPTV, mobility, and network security.

“I am confident with Swapna’s experience and capabilities, we will strengthen our first-mover position in software networking as we develop a technology roadmap to fully embrace the New IP,” said Orcun Tezel, senior director of Systems Engineering for APAC at Brocade.
