Razorpay Launches AI-Powered WhatsApp Account Manager to Simplify Business Payments

Razorpay

Razorpay has unveiled RAY (Razorpay AI), an AI-powered account manager built on WhatsApp, marking a significant step in the convergence of conversational AI and financial operations for businesses. Developed in partnership with IndusInd Bank, the solution is already being used by early adopters, including Bajaj Finance.

The launch comes as small and medium businesses increasingly seek simpler ways to access business intelligence and manage financial operations without navigating complex dashboards. RAY enables merchants to interact with their payment data using natural-language queries directly through WhatsApp, transforming operational insights into a conversational experience.

Instead of manually accessing multiple reports and analytics tools, business owners can ask questions such as “Show me yesterday’s payment summary” or “Analyze my payments from the last two months and forecast sales for the next two.” The AI assistant then processes transaction data and delivers actionable insights in real time.

The move reflects a broader trend toward AI-driven financial operations, where businesses are increasingly using intelligent assistants to improve decision-making, reduce administrative workload, and gain faster access to critical information. By embedding these capabilities within WhatsApp, Razorpay is leveraging a platform already familiar to millions of business owners, reducing adoption barriers and making financial analytics more accessible.

According to the company, businesses have already conducted more than 20,000 conversations with RAY, highlighting growing interest in conversational interfaces for managing finance and payment operations. The early traction suggests that entrepreneurs are increasingly comfortable relying on AI assistants for routine business intelligence and operational support.

From an industry perspective, the launch signals a shift in how fintech platforms are evolving beyond payment processing into intelligent business management ecosystems. By combining payments data, analytics, forecasting, and conversational AI within a single interface, Razorpay aims to help businesses spend less time managing administrative tasks and more time focusing on growth.

As AI adoption accelerates across the fintech sector, solutions like RAY could redefine how business owners interact with financial data, making insights more immediate, intuitive, and actionable.
