DESUN Hospitals has announced the appointment of Syed Kadam Murshed as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO), reinforcing the organization’s commitment to digital innovation, technology-led healthcare delivery, and enhanced patient experiences.

With more than 30 years of experience in healthcare technology and digital transformation, Syed brings extensive leadership expertise across hospitals, diagnostics, healthcare services, and enterprise technology. His appointment marks a return to Kolkata, where he previously led several large-scale healthcare technology initiatives across leading healthcare institutions in Eastern India.

Prior to joining DESUN Hospitals, Syed held senior leadership positions at prominent organizations including Metropolis Healthcare, Tata Cancer Care Foundation, Medica Hospitals, DXC Technology, and Future Oncology Hospital. Throughout his career, he has played a pivotal role in implementing and modernizing healthcare technology ecosystems that support clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and patient-centric care.

Syed’s expertise spans a wide range of healthcare technology domains, including Hospital Management Information Systems (HMIS), Hospital Information Systems (HIS), Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), PACS, Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), telemedicine platforms, mobile health applications, healthcare interoperability, enterprise integration platforms, APIs, artificial intelligence solutions, cybersecurity, analytics, and multi-cloud infrastructure.

Known for building scalable and secure digital ecosystems, he has successfully integrated clinical, diagnostic, and enterprise applications to improve governance, data visibility, and decision-making across healthcare organizations.
