Dremio Cloud redefines enterprise data management with autonomous capabilities designed for AI agents.
Dremio has announced the launch of Dremio Cloud, the industry’s first agentic lakehouse — a groundbreaking platform that transforms how enterprises manage, govern, and activate data for artificial intelligence. Announced at the Subsurface Conference in New York, this next-generation offering introduces a new class of self-managing, intelligent data infrastructure built specifically for the agentic era.
Unlike traditional lakehouse platforms, Dremio Cloud reimagines data management by embedding autonomous, learning-driven capabilities that continuously optimize performance and reduce manual intervention. The platform is designed to make data engineers up to 10 times more productive, freeing them from routine maintenance so they can focus on innovation and advanced analytics.
“As enterprises race to deploy AI agents, their legacy data infrastructures can’t keep up,” said Sendur Sellakumar, CEO, Dremio. “Our new agentic lakehouse embeds intelligent, autonomous capabilities that eliminate the manual overhead plaguing data teams while providing the performance and reliability that AI agents demand.”
“Our new agentic lakehouse represents a fundamental shift in how data platforms operate.”
– Sendur Sellakumar, CEO, Dremio
At its core, Dremio Cloud enables AI agents to act as first-class operators — not copilots — creating an ecosystem where agents, applications, and users seamlessly interact. Through its Open Catalog (built on Apache Polaris), Dremio unifies governed access across all data sources, while its AI Semantic Layer provides critical business context to ensure accurate insights and avoid AI hallucinations.
Dremio Cloud also features active metadata for predictive optimization, automated clustering for real-time performance enhancement, and materialized query rewriting for consistent, sub-second responses. Its built-in AI Agent and support for the Model Context Protocol (MCP) further enable integration with leading AI providers such as OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic.
According to Kevin Petrie, Vice President of Research at BARC, “Dremio’s Agentic Lakehouse addresses the growing demand for automation and tool consolidation. It minimizes toil and boosts productivity for data teams.”
By bridging automation, intelligence, and openness, Dremio Cloud marks a pivotal milestone in enterprise data evolution — ushering in the first true self-managing, AI-native lakehouse that is built for agents and managed by agents.
