Insurance major partners with DEPT® to build a cloud-native, AI-powered digital ecosystem focused on personalised customer experiences and faster innovation

Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance Company Limited (Kotak Life) is stepping up its digital transformation strategy with a new AI-powered digital platform ecosystem designed to make customer interactions more personalised, agile and scalable.

The insurer has partnered with global digital transformation company DEPT® to transition its customer-facing digital assets to a cloud-native, headless architecture powered by Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Cloud Services. The move is aimed at creating a more flexible digital foundation as Kotak Life expands the use of AI across its insurance value chain.

“At Kotak Life, our customers are at the forefront of all our technology initiatives,” said Sourabh Chatterjee, Chief Technology Digital Transformation Officer, Kotak Life. “Transitioning our customer-facing assets to a cloud-native, headless architecture along with NLP-powered interfaces aligns with our vision of enabling AI across our life insurance value chain.”

“At Kotak Life, our customers are at the forefront of all our technology initiatives. In the era of AI, there will be a paradigm shift in CX becoming more and more personalised.” — Sourabh Chatterjee, Chief Technology Digital Transformation Officer, Kotak Life

A key component of the transformation is an Agentic Development approach that will be used to accelerate content migration and code development. The approach aligns with Kotak Life’s broader ambition to deploy AI agents to optimise platforms and business processes.

The transformation is also expected to strengthen direct customer acquisition through a more optimised user experience, while supporting digital inclusivity through WCAG 2.1 compliance.

With 372 branches across 163 cities as of March 2026 and more than five crore lives covered, Kotak Life is positioning its digital platform as an important layer in scaling customer engagement.

The partnership signals a broader shift in insurance technology: moving from digital channels built primarily for transactions toward AI-enabled platforms designed around personalised, continuously evolving customer experiences.
