Strategic deployment across IT and OT domains sets a new benchmark for enterprise AI governance and scalability

At the Red Hat Summit 2025, Red Hat and Hitachi, Ltd. unveiled a milestone in enterprise AI transformation: a full-scale, governed internal AI platform powered by Red Hat OpenShift AI, deployed across Hitachi’s global operations.

Built to scale both generative and predictive AI models across hybrid cloud environments, the platform now anchors over 250 projects across IT and OT, enhancing call center efficiency, speeding up system development, and uniting cross-functional teams.

“Hitachi isn’t simply experimenting with AI—we’re industrializing it.”

— Masahiro Kikuchi, Director, Platform Service Department, Hitachi, Ltd.

Beyond operational excellence, the platform serves as a governance framework — ensuring ethical, efficient, and scalable AI implementation across the organization. Hitachi is already exploring external applications of the platform to support business development.

Miho Miura, VP, Area Sales, Red Hat, said: “Hitachi’s AI platform sets a new industry standard. With Red Hat OpenShift AI, they’ve demonstrated how to scale, govern, and operationalize AI across the enterprise.”

This strategic collaboration underscores Red Hat’s vision of “any model, any accelerator, any cloud”, promoting AI that is unconstrained by infrastructure and built for the future.
