Salesforce Launches Next-Gen Slackbot as Personal AI Agent for Work

Reimagined Slackbot brings trusted, context-aware AI into everyday workplace conversations

Salesforce has announced the general availability of the new Slackbot, positioning it as a personal AI agent for work and a key pillar of its broader Agentforce 360 vision. Built directly into Slack, the reimagined Slackbot is designed to bridge a long-standing gap in enterprise AI adoption—bringing reliable, context-aware intelligence into the natural flow of work.

While AI has rapidly transformed consumer experiences, its impact inside organizations has been limited by fragmented tools, lack of context, and trust concerns. Salesforce aims to address this challenge by using Slack as the conversational interface where people and AI agents collaborate using real-time conversations, business data, and workflows.

At the center of this strategy is Slackbot, now redesigned as a deeply personal, always-available workplace agent. Unlike standalone AI assistants, Slackbot works with the context employees already have—their conversations, channels, files, calendars, and permissions. It helps users find answers, summarize discussions, create content, organize work, schedule meetings, and take action without switching tools or leaving Slack.

“Slackbot is the front door to the Agentic Enterprise — bringing trusted, enterprise-grade AI directly into the flow of work.”

— Parker Harris, Co-Founder, Salesforce & Chief Technology Officer, Slack

A critical differentiator is trust. Slackbot respects enterprise-grade security, roles, and access controls, surfacing only the information a user is authorized to see. This built-in awareness makes it more accurate and relevant, addressing one of the biggest barriers to enterprise AI adoption: confidence in AI handling sensitive business tasks.

Slackbot also serves as the primary interface for Salesforce’s Agentic Enterprise vision. As organizations deploy Agentforce and third-party AI agents, Slackbot will act as the single conversational layer that coordinates actions across systems—deciding which tools and agents to engage based on user intent, while working seamlessly behind the scenes.

Beyond information retrieval, Slackbot turns conversation into action. Users can generate meeting notes, project updates, and collaborative canvases in seconds, manage schedules, set reminders, and stay aligned on priorities—helping reduce context switching and improve productivity.

Early customer feedback highlights tangible time savings, with users reporting anywhere from 30 minutes to over an hour saved per day by eliminating manual searching and tool hopping.

Available now for Business+ and Enterprise+ customers, the new Slackbot represents Salesforce’s next step toward making AI a trusted, everyday coworker—one that adapts to how people work, rather than forcing people to adapt to technology.
