New release strengthens automation, deepens AWS and Azure integrations, and enhances privileged remote access for modern enterprises
Leostream has rolled out a major upgrade to its Remote Desktop Access Platform, introducing a broad set of automation, cloud integration, and scalability enhancements designed for hybrid and multi-cloud environments. The new 2025.2 release focuses on simplifying desktop lifecycle management, improving end-user experience, and strengthening governance and security—while reducing the operational burden on IT teams.
A core highlight of the update is deeper RESTful API coverage, enabling full scripting of user onboarding, virtual machine maintenance, image configuration, and provisioning workflows. Administrators can now automate identity updates by syncing user records with HR or IT systems, automatically adding, updating, or deleting accounts as workforce needs change. The platform now also allows end users to reset Active Directory passwords directly from the Leostream Web Client, cutting down on support tickets and downtime.

The release introduces new tools for desktop usage analysis and VM lifecycle management, including the ability to map user activity to virtual machines, analyze consumption patterns, and place machines in scheduled maintenance mode. Granular role-level dashboard visibility further improves oversight and compliance.
Expanded AWS and Azure Capabilities
Version 2025.2 significantly enhances Leostream’s cloud capabilities. For AWS environments, the platform now supports Bring Your Own License (BYOL) for Windows 11 WorkSpaces Core persistent instances, providing greater licensing flexibility and cost efficiencies. It also automatically detects new AWS instance types, ensuring immediate access to the latest GPU and memory-optimized configurations. Support for AWS image IDs improves accuracy in DevOps pipelines and large-scale provisioning scripts.
Azure customers benefit from expanded Centers API functionality, enabling full automation of cloud lifecycle events and tighter CI/CD and DevOps integration, allowing faster deployments with minimal manual configuration.
Upgrades to Privileged Remote Access
The update also brings improvements to Leostream’s Privileged Remote Access service, including bulk vendor onboarding, Microsoft Entra ID SSO integration, and a built-in message board for centralized communication with third-party teams. These capabilities address the complex identity and access challenges of large enterprises with extensive vendor ecosystems.
