Inspira Global has appointed Umesh Shankarlal Varma as its new Group Head of Information Technology, reinforcing the group’s commitment to leveraging technology, digital innovation, and data-driven decision-making as strategic growth enablers across its businesses.

In his new role, Varma will oversee technology strategy, digital transformation, IT governance, cybersecurity, and technology operations across the group’s portfolio, including Lenexis Foodworks, Inspira Realty, and Seva Home. His mandate includes driving business transformation, building scalable technology infrastructure, strengthening data and AI capabilities, establishing governance frameworks, optimizing technology investments, and enhancing cyber resilience.

Commenting on the appointment, Aayush Madhusudan Agrawal, Founder and Director, Inspira Global, said, “As Inspira Global continues to scale across its portfolio of businesses, technology is central to how we build efficient, resilient and future-ready operations. Umesh brings a rare combination of deep retail-tech expertise and a proven record of building platforms that deliver measurable business impact.”

Varma brings more than 18 years of experience in technology leadership, digital transformation, and product development across the retail, quick-service restaurant (QSR), fashion, and consumer sectors. Prior to joining Inspira Global, he served as Head of IT Products & POS at Sapphire Foods India Limited, where he led the development of an in-house point-of-sale and order management platform aimed at delivering annual cost savings of approximately ₹120 million. He also played a significant role in scaling technology-driven retail operations during his tenure at Aditya Birla Retail and More Retail, including supporting the rapid growth of the Amazon Fresh ecosystem.

“Having spent my career building large-scale retail and QSR technology platforms, I’m excited to bring that experience to Inspira Global at a time when the group is scaling rapidly,” said Umesh Varma. “My focus will be on strengthening our technology foundations, from digital transformation and data-led decision-making to governance and cybersecurity, so that we can scale efficiently while continuing to improve the experience we deliver to our customers.”

At Lenexis Foodworks, Varma will focus on strengthening digital capabilities across store operations, customer platforms, analytics, and QSR technology systems. For Inspira Realty and Seva Home, he will drive initiatives around digital customer journeys, CRM platforms, business process automation, project management systems, and integrated enterprise technologies.

The appointment reflects Inspira Global’s broader strategy of creating a secure, scalable, and integrated technology ecosystem that supports business growth, operational efficiency, and improved customer experiences across its diversified businesses.
