Informatica Leading from the Front: Forrester Research

Named a leader in Master Data Management as it earns highest scores possible for 20 Criteria, Including Data Governance, Data Profiling and Monitoring, Data Quality, Big Data Deployment and Security

Informatica has revealed that Forrester Research has positioned Informatica as a leader in The Forrester Wave: Master Data Management, Q1, 2016. In the report, Informatica received the highest score possible (5/5) in 20 evaluation criteria, among the most given by Forrester, as well as the top scores for the Current Offering and Market Presence evaluation categories. This also includes scores of 5/5 in Data Governance, Data Profiling and Monitoring, Administration, Integration and Processing, Security, Partner Strategy, Customers, Global and Industry Reach, and Revenue. Informatica also achieved the highest score possible (5/5) in the sub-categories of Data Quality, Data Types and Formats, and Big Data Deployment, as well as 4.2/5 for Cloud MDM and 4/5 for Time to Value, the release said.

The report’s authors added that Informatica is cloud-ready, with Informatica emphasizing further cloud investment. According to Forrester earlier in the report, it is not surprising that over half of decision-makers expect their firms will increase their use of MDM as a service over the coming year. The report also noted that Informatica’s recently introduced MDM apps Customer 360 and Supplier 360, give subject matter experts (SMEs) a CRM-like environment to manage, remediate, and maintain customer and supplier data, respectively.

Additionally, providing clean, connected and authoritative data across an enterprise, Informatica MDM empowers organizations to analyze, understand and leverage relationships between the people, places and things that are most important to their businesses. In addition to its market-leading, multi-domain MDM platform, Informatica offers four master data-fueled applications designed to power revolutionary new approaches to key business processes: Product 360, Supplier 360, Customer 360 and Cloud Customer 360 for Salesforce, said the release.

Forrester analysts wrote in the report, “Leaders demonstrated extensive and MDM capabilities for sophisticated master data scenarios, large complex ecosystems, and data governance to deliver enterprise-scale business value. Informatica’s MDM tool has evolved to satisfy back-end data orchestration, master data syndication, and a role-friendly UI for stewardship, and that Informatica customers can expect enterprise-scale profiling, monitoring, processing, data quality, BPM, and data integration capabilities across industries and domains.”

Rob Karel, VP, Product Strategy and Marketing, Information Quality Solutions, Informatica said, “The past six months have been a pivotal time for Informatica MDM, as witnessed by the market’s embrace of Informatica MDM 10.1, the company’s continued strategic investments supporting hybrid MDM deployments across Cloud, on premise and big data environments, and Informatica’s first master data fueled applications, all geared toward providing master data management for the age of engagement. We believe that Forrester Research’s recognition of Informatica as a Leader is a testament to our current MDM product and market strengths, and our visionary MDM product roadmap for empowering organizations to do great things with great data.”
