Humanscale opens Ergonomic Experience Center in Hyderabad

The globally renowned ‘Freedom Chair’, the gold standard in office seating, will be the key attraction at this center from the pioneer and leader in office ergonomics

Humanscale announced the opening of its ‘Humanscale Ergonomic Experience Center’ in Hyderabad, Telangana. The Center, set up in association with the company’s dealer partner N K Designers, is conveniently located at Srinagar colony, Hyderabad and will be  a one-stop shop wherein customers can personally experience Humanscale’s highly innovative and sustainable range of office ergonomic products like chairs, keyboard systems, monitor arms, LED lights and height-adjustable tables.

This will be the second center to be set up in India after Nagpur. The key highlight of the center would be the globally renowned ‘Freedom Chair’, the gold standard in office seating. The ‘Freedom Chair’ created by renowned ergonomics designer Niels Different and winner of 10 international design awards redefines the concept of traditional task chairs. Designer Niels Different aimed to design an office chair that automatically adapts to the user, allowing them to move freely from posture to posture. Diffrient’s unique approach removed complexities found in other chairs, such as cumbersome recline levers and back tension dials for a truly ergonomic task chair. As a result, he developed a recline mechanism that perfectly adjusts to the user, definitively reinventing modern task seating to be truly simple, functional and beautiful.

“Telangana state’s economy has achieved an impressive double-digit growth at 10.1 percent during the financial year 2016-17, surpassing the national average growth of 7.1 percent. These figures show how the new state of Telangana has been making rapid strides on all fronts since its formation three years ago.  We are extremely pleased to open this Ergonomic Experience Center in Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, as we see immense potential for our products here. “said Alastair Stubbs, Country Manager India, Humanscale.  “We are on a mission to build an ergonomic India. The opening of this Ergonomic Experience Center is one of the key initiatives that we have planned to achieve this goal.  We are also planning to open similar centers in other cities in a phased manner over the next few years.”

Ergonomics is the study of how to improve efficiency and comfort in a workplace. The use of computers and rapidly changing technology in the modern workplace has greatly increased the need for ergonomics. By applying ergonomics to their work environments, companies can experience a ripple effect of the benefits.

When a company takes a proactive approach to employee safety and well-being, employees take notice of this active stance on their wellness. They report higher levels of job satisfaction and show higher commitment levels. Employees’ positive reaction to this demonstrated care for their health yields a variety of benefits, such as decreased turnover rates and better work quality, as well as improved output, engagement and morale.  When employees are more committed to a company, they are more productive and even display more initiative and effort in the tasks performed.  As a result of higher employee engagement, satisfaction and productivity, the company projects an improved corporate image, which may lead to better community relationships and a more impactful brand.

“At Humanscale, we believe that spaces should be designed to provide the employees a working environment that is conducive to good health and well being. In reality, most environments fail to meet even the basic ergonomics requirements. The Humanscale Ergonomic Experience Center will help key stakeholders (especially Architects, Designers, Building Project Managers, Facilities Managers, IT Managers, Corporate Heads etc) to have a first- hand experience on how one can enhance efficiency and improve the quality of work life and health at the workplace.” added Alastair Stubbs.
