Bpifrance, MGX, Mistral AI, and NVIDIA spearhead a sovereign, sustainable AI mega-hub backed by key French and UAE stakeholders
In a landmark announcement at the Choose France Summit in Versailles, a global joint venture was unveiled to build Europe’s largest AI Campus in the Paris region. Backed by France’s national investment bank Bpifrance, UAE’s MGX investment fund, generative AI leader Mistral AI, and tech giant NVIDIA, the initiative will create a 1.4 GW AI mega-hub designed to power sovereign, sustainable innovation.
The AI Campus is envisioned as Europe’s first purpose-built intelligence ecosystem—integrating model training, inference, deployment, and sovereign cloud infrastructure under one roof. It aims to accelerate breakthroughs in healthcare, finance, energy, and manufacturing, while supporting Europe’s digital and climate sovereignty.
“The AI Campus will be a transformational infrastructure for France – built in France, to fuel France in the era of AI.”

Witnessed by French Minister Eric Lombard and UAE dignitary HE Khaldoon Al Mubarak, the signing underscores growing France-UAE tech cooperation, including a broader AI pact signed at the AI Action Summit earlier this year.
“We are proud to co-found this transformative European AI Campus with MGX,” said Nicolas Dufourcq, CEO of Bpifrance. “This reinforces France’s position as a global AI leader and its commitment to technological sovereignty.”
“France has the ambition and capability to lead in this new AI era,” said Ahmed Yahia, CEO of MGX. “The Campus will unlock AI’s broad societal impact—accelerating innovation across science, education, and business.”
Joining the venture are Bouygues, EDF, École Polytechnique, RTE, and Sipartech—each contributing sectoral expertise in infrastructure, energy, academia, and connectivity. École Polytechnique will also establish a research chair in AI, with collaboration from Mohamed Bin Zayed University of AI in the UAE.
