Equinix Expands in Kuala Lumpur to Strengthen ASEAN Digital Infrastructure

Completion of KL1 data center’s second phase enhances connectivity and supports economic growth in the region.

Equinix has announced the completion of the second phase of its KL1 International Business Exchange (IBX) data center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This expansion, which adds 450 cabinets to the KL1 facility, is part of Equinix’s broader strategy to enhance digital infrastructure across the ASEAN region.

Since launching operations in 2024, Equinix has secured a diverse range of global and local customers, including those in cloud and IT services, content and digital media, enterprises, and network providers. The expansion in Kuala Lumpur, combined with Equinix’s strong presence in Singapore and Johor, and forthcoming entries into Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand, will enable businesses to interconnect and exchange data seamlessly across the region.
