Cummins India Names Gbile Adewunmi as Managing Director

Cummins India

Cummins India Limited has appointed Gbile Adewunmi as Managing Director and India Regional Leader, effective November 1, 2026, adding regional leadership responsibilities to his existing mandate as leader of Industrial Markets within Cummins Power Systems.

The appointment comes as India continues to hold strategic importance for Cummins, with the company positioning the market as a key part of its future growth. Adewunmi will continue to lead the Industrial Markets business, creating a leadership structure that links the company’s India strategy with its broader industrial power solutions portfolio.

Adewunmi currently serves as Vice President, Power Systems Industrial Markets, where he has worked with customers and partners across demanding sectors including mining. His responsibilities have included advancing hybrid-electric retrofit solutions, mining technologies and other power solutions focused on productivity, reliability and emissions reduction.

“Gbile is a respected global leader with deep experience across Cummins and a strong track record of delivering customer-focused growth and business performance. His enterprise perspective, ability to build high-performing teams and commitment to our customers make him exceptionally well positioned to lead Cummins India Limited and the India region.”

— Jenny Bush, President, Power Systems, Cummins

His expanded role could give Cummins India an opportunity to further align its local market strategy with the evolving requirements of industrial customers, particularly as businesses balance operational performance with the need to reduce emissions and modernise power infrastructure.

The company said Cummins India is supported by a strong leadership team, workforce and established manufacturing and distribution network. The Indian entity operates four manufacturing plants, assembly and distribution facilities and has more than 480 customer touchpoints, supported by over 3,000 employees.

Adewunmi said the expanded role would involve working with employees, customers and stakeholders to build on the company’s existing foundation.

The leadership transition also places continued emphasis on customer-focused growth and practical power technologies, particularly in industrial markets where electrification, hybrid solutions and emissions reduction are becoming increasingly important to long-term operational strategies.
