CA UIM to Help Australian Biz to Leverage investments in AWS

Says is working with a number of Australian channel partners – including, Melbourne IT, RXP and UXC

CA Technologies said it is working with a number of Australian channel partners – including, Melbourne IT, RXP and UXC – to help local businesses further leverage their investments in Amazon Web Services (AWS) using CA Unified Infrastructure Management (formerly CA Nimsoft Monitor) for Amazon Web Services.

CA UIM for Amazon Web Services enables organisations to monitor and manage service levels in the cloud. It delivers detailed performance reporting on key metrics and sophisticated alarms to proactively help customers meet SLAs and increase uptime announced the press release. The solution monitors the availability and performance of AWS’ EC2 and S3 systems and offers the scalability organisations require.

Darren Reid, senior vice president, Partners & Alliances – Asia Pacific & Japan at CA Technologies, believes that CA UIM is a popular choice for companies deploying AWS because of its ability to use insights into resource usage to further leverage their AWS investment.

“Every business has to account for every dollar spent and that means a heightened focus where innovation is concerned because businesses want to know the ‘new’ is achieving a return on investment. Where CA UIM comes into its own is by allowing businesses to leverage insights into resource usage to further maximise the value of their AWS investment – everything from the datacentre to the cloud, including SaaS, hosted and virtualised environments,” Reid said.

CA UIM for AWS gives the channel a few distinct ways to offer value-added differentiation to their customers for AWS-related services.

Firstly, it allows managed service providers (MSPs) to proactively monitor AWS performance to further leverage service levels for their customers. In some instances these MSP’s are also offering “monitoring as a service” so that the customer can do all this themselves.

The second opportunity is reselling the product for customers to use on premise. Some CA channel partners are offering both options to address individual customer needs.
