VMware Private AI Services become standard, accelerating secure enterprise adoption of Private AI as a Service
Broadcom Inc. (NASDAQ: AVGO) has announced that VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.0 is now generally available, making VCF an AI native platform by integrating VMware Private AI Services as a standard component. The move accelerates enterprise adoption of Private AI as a Service, helping customers modernize private cloud infrastructure at scale.
With more than 100 million cores of VCF licensed globally and adoption by nine of the top 10 Fortune 500 companies, Broadcom continues to see strong customer momentum for the platform.
“To support the next wave of AI innovation, Broadcom is making Private AI a standard part of the modern private cloud.” — Krish Prasad, SVP & GM, VMware Cloud Foundation Division, Broadcom
Krish Prasad, SVP and GM of VMware Cloud Foundation at Broadcom, said: “Customers are resetting their cloud strategies and building private clouds to support better developer velocity and cost-efficient AI deployments. With VMware Cloud Foundation, infrastructure teams get virtualization benefits for AI workloads without compromising performance, while developers gain direct access to AI services from the private cloud.”
Private AI as a Service, Built-In
VCF 9.0 enables enterprises to run, fine-tune, and govern AI models with GPU precision. With VMware Private AI Services — including GPU monitoring, model runtime, vector databases, and agent builders — customers can deploy AI securely and efficiently. These services are included in every VCF subscription starting Q1 FY26, eliminating the need for add-on purchases.
Upcoming innovations include:
- Intelligent Assist for VCF: an AI-driven support assistant for faster issue resolution.
- Model Context Protocol (MCP) support: standardized AI assistant integration with tools like ServiceNow, GitHub, and SQL databases.
- Multi-accelerator model runtime: enabling AI workloads across NVIDIA and AMD GPUs.
- Multi-tenant Models-as-a-Service: secure model sharing with full data isolation.
Expanding the Ecosystem
Broadcom is collaborating with NVIDIA and AMD to support next-generation GPU platforms, from NVIDIA Blackwell to AMD Instinct MI350. Partnerships with Canonical and others further enhance containerized and AI workloads.
Boosting Developer Velocity
With built-in Kubernetes, GitOps, Argo CD, Istio, and native vSAN S3 object storage, VCF 9.0 provides developers with a frictionless environment for modern app and AI development — balancing autonomy with IT governance.
