Asian Paints to Implement EMC VMAX All Flash

EMC VMAX 450 F to help Asian paints to achieve faster processing cycles & 6X performance improvement

Asian Paints has chosen EMC’s VMAX all-flash to enhance its virtual machine environment.
Asian Paints operates in 19 countries and has 26 paint manufacturing facilities in the world servicing consumers in over 65 countries. They were comfortable running the non-core production as well as Test & Dev and quality environments on the erstwhile VMAXe. However, with the growing demands of the business, the system was running out of capacity. EMC proposed a tech refresh of the existing VMAX with the new technologies.

VMAX All Flash is the first-to-market all-flash array to natively support block and file protocols for open systems and mainframe system and scales up to 4PB. With the VMAX All Flash comes a new maintenance package, Xpect More, with guaranteed flash endurance protection and a lifetime flat-priced maintenance model. VMAX All Flash will also be delivered as a building block of the VCE Vblock and VxBlock 740 Systems.

Commenting on partnership with EMC, Kevin Hill, Asian paints said: “We have partnered with EMC for the last 15 years and are looking forward to the shift to the VMAX 450F All Flash Array. With this move we expect to complement our virtualised infrastructure as well strengthen and simplify our storage deployment. This will help us to respond quickly to requests from application teams in IT and business owners across the organisation.”

Syed Masroor, ‎Sales Director, Flash Storage Sales India, EMC on their collaboration with Asian Paints: “We are delighted to support Asian Paints in its journey of transformation to cater to the increasing and new demands in its IT environment. The EMC VMAX All Flash delivers performance, scale, high availability, and advanced data services for all mission-critical applications. VMAX 450F and VMAX 450FX are Tier 1 highly scalable arrays that solve the broadest set of modern storage challenges while offering advanced data services for simplicity and peace of mind.”
