Altair and IIT Madras Partner to Launch Advanced eMobility Simulation Lab

Altair extends support to proposed eMobility simulation lab at IIT Madras to accelerate research and innovation in electric vehicles

Altair partners with IIT Madras to launch an eMobility simulation lab, reinforcing its dedication to advancing EV research and development in line with sustainability and innovation goals.

Altair will facilitate the provision of Altair® HyperWorks® and the requisite compute infrastructure backbone to run Altair simulation codes to the eMobility Simulation lab established in the Department of Engineering Design, IIT Madras. This support is integral to empowering startups, researchers, and students with cutting-edge tools and resources to further the study and development of EVs. The creation of the eMobility simulation lab at IIT Madras represents a pivotal stride in advancing research within the EV domain and advocating for sustainable transportation solutions.

 Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, said, “Given the Government’s focus on eMobility and rapid expansion of the market that is expected, there is a need for IIT Madras to play its role in the academic space. eMobility-related initiatives in Academic Programs, Research and Policy are all managed and offered with multiple Departments contributing with the Department of Engineering Design acting as the nodal department.”
