GoTrust Launches Hands-On Privacy Certification for Compliance Professionals

Himanshu Gautam

As privacy regulations move from policy documents into day-to-day technology and business processes, organisations are facing a growing shortage of professionals who can translate regulatory requirements into operational controls. GoTrust is targeting that gap with the launch of its GoTrust Certified Privacy Professional (GCPP) Programme.

Positioned as an India-first, practitioner-focused certification, GCPP takes participants into the live GoTrust platform during each of its nine expert-led sessions. The programme is designed around practical exercises rather than classroom-based regulatory theory, covering areas ranging from consent management and privacy automation to data discovery, DLP, AI governance and third-party risk.

Participants work through real operational scenarios, including configuring a cookie banner, conducting a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA), processing a data subject request, performing multi-cloud data discovery, creating a DLP policy and establishing a vendor assessment workflow.

“Privacy is increasingly becoming an operational responsibility that cuts across legal, technology, security and business functions. The GCPP programme is designed to bridge the gap between knowing what regulations require and knowing how to put those requirements into practice.” — Himanshu Gautam, Founder & CEO, GoTrust

The curriculum leads with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA), while also covering GDPR, CPRA, UAE PDPL, the EU AI Act and relevant ISO and NIST frameworks. It targets privacy and compliance professionals as well as IT, security, cloud, AI/ML, marketing, procurement and audit teams.

The programme reflects a broader shift in enterprise privacy management: compliance is increasingly becoming a shared operational responsibility rather than a function confined to legal or privacy teams.

Participants who complete all nine sessions and pass the final assessment receive the GCPP credential. GoTrust makes clear that the certification is company-issued and not government-approved or externally accredited, with its value centred on demonstrated proficiency with the GoTrust platform and practical privacy implementation.
