Matters.AI has integrated its Data Detection and Response platform with Upwind’s cloud and AI security platform, enabling security teams to connect cloud exposures with the sensitive business data potentially affected.
The native API integration addresses a common gap in cloud security: a high-severity alert can identify a vulnerable workload or configuration without showing which critical records could be exposed. Upwind contributes runtime context covering workloads, processes, identities and network paths, while Matters.AI adds data discovery, classification, access permissions and Database Activity Monitoring.
“Integrating Matters.AI with Upwind’s runtime visibility is a huge leap forward for data security. By enriching our AI-native semantic engine with live process and socket telemetry, Matters.AI gives security teams a complete, single-pane view of data risk.” — Harsh Sahu, Co-Founder & CTO, Matters.AI
The integration maps Upwind findings to Matters.AI’s classification results for affected datastores, allowing teams to prioritise exposures based on both infrastructure risk and data sensitivity. Database Activity Monitoring adds query-level visibility to support investigations.
For posture and configuration findings, Matters.AI uses a 24-hour ingestion cycle. Where Upwind is the authoritative posture source, Matters.AI suppresses duplicate posture results, reducing the need for separate cloud posture scanning.
“Upwind provides real-time runtime data, enriched with deep cloud security and AI security context. Matters.AI leverages this runtime intelligence to broaden and enrich its data sets, connecting what’s happening in the cloud with the sensitive data at risk.” — Alon Saban, Head of Tech Alliances, Upwind Security
Customers can connect an existing Upwind organisation through the native API, avoiding duplicate cloud-account onboarding. Matters.AI performs scanning and classification within the customer environment.
The partnership reflects a broader shift toward contextualising cloud security around business impact—helping security teams move beyond alert volume to identify which exposures actually put sensitive data at risk.
