Vembu Technologies, the company behind BDRShield and XDRShield, has launched Vembu Meet 2026, a nationwide dialogue series focused on helping Indian organizations move beyond regulatory compliance and strengthen cyber resilience. The initiative debuted in Chennai under the theme “Beyond Compliance: Building Recovery Readiness in the DPDP Era.”
Held at the Holiday Inn Chennai OMR IT Expressway, the invite-only event brought together founders, CEOs, CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, compliance leaders, and IT decision-makers to discuss the growing importance of data protection, disaster recovery, and business continuity under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act.
“The DPDP Act gives Indian businesses a clear starting point, but the real test is whether an organization can recover its data, operations, and customer trust when something goes wrong. That is the conversation we wanted to start through Vembu Meet,” said Sekar Vembu, Founder and CEO, Vembu Technologies.
The highlight of the event was a panel discussion on cyber resilience featuring industry experts from A.M.M. Foundation, Ultimatum Solutions, and Vembu Technologies. Panelists emphasized that compliance alone does not guarantee resilience and identified recovery testing and third-party risk management as critical gaps that many organizations still need to address. They also stressed that cyber resilience must become a boardroom priority rather than remain solely an IT responsibility.
The event included interactive discussions, a live Q&A session, and demonstrations of Vembu’s BDRShield and XDRShield platforms, designed to provide backup, disaster recovery, cyber resilience, and endpoint detection and response capabilities.
Speaking at the event, Nagarajan Chandrasekaran, Vice President of Product Management at Vembu Technologies, noted that while many organizations have started their DPDP compliance journey, fewer have tested their ability to restore operations after a cyber incident.
Following its Chennai debut, Vembu Meet will expand to multiple Tier-I and Tier-II cities, creating a nationwide platform for organizations to share insights and improve recovery readiness in an increasingly complex cybersecurity landscape.
