Veeam and DSCI Join Forces to Strengthen Cyber Resilience and Data Protection Readiness in India

Veeam Software, the Data and AI Trust Company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Data Security Council of India (DSCI) to help organizations strengthen cyber resilience, improve data governance, and develop cybersecurity talent as India prepares for the full enforcement of the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act in May 2027.

The announcement was made during VeeamON Tour Delhi, where both organizations outlined plans to support enterprises navigating evolving data protection regulations and emerging AI-related risks. As India’s digital economy expands rapidly and organizations accelerate AI adoption, data security, governance, and recoverability are increasingly becoming strategic priorities.

“With the DPDP Act less than a year from full enforcement, Indian enterprises must move beyond compliance planning to building operational cyber resilience. Through our collaboration with DSCI, we aim to combine technology, policy leadership and workforce development to help organizations fortify cyber resilience, accelerate AI adoption with confidence and navigate India’s new data protection requirements.” — Sandeep Bhambure, Vice President and Managing Director, India & SAARC, Veeam Software

According to Veeam, AI adoption in India is already widespread, with 93% of organizations using or testing AI agents and 44% deploying them in production environments. However, significant challenges remain, including data management issues and concerns around autonomous AI behavior.

Under the partnership, Veeam and DSCI will collaborate across four key areas: capacity building, industry engagement, policy research, and workforce development. A major initiative will be the joint publication of “DPDP-Ready in the AI Era: A Sovereign, Secure and Resilient Blueprint for India,” a guidance paper designed to help organizations prepare for compliance while building secure and resilient digital environments.

The collaboration will also focus on addressing India’s cybersecurity skills gap through programs such as cybersecurity awareness initiatives in government schools, specialized training for women engineering graduates from Northeast India, and the Cyber Grad Bootcamp, a certification-focused program aimed at preparing graduates for careers in cyber resilience.

Additionally, Veeam plans to publish a Cyber Resilience Leadership Handbook, featuring insights from more than 50 business and technology leaders. The initiative forms part of Bharat CyberSuraksha, Veeam’s workforce development program, which aims to establish 100 Centres of Excellence, deliver 100,000 certifications, and create 25,000 career pathways in cybersecurity and enterprise security roles across India.
