Veteran technology leader to drive digital transformation and IT strategy for the renewable energy major
Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Rajesh Mittal as Chief Information Officer (CIO), reinforcing its focus on digital transformation and technology-led growth.
Mittal joins the organization with over 25 years of experience in enterprise IT, digital transformation, and business technology strategy. He is known for driving large-scale transformation initiatives across industries, with expertise spanning IT governance, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, and advanced analytics.
Prior to this elevation to CIO, Mittal was appointed as Senior Vice President – IT at Altius Telecom Infrastructure, effective January 20, 2026, as part of the company’s senior management team.
In his new role as CIO, Mittal will be responsible for shaping the company’s global IT roadmap, accelerating digital innovation, and aligning technology initiatives with business objectives. His mandate includes strengthening cybersecurity frameworks, enhancing operational efficiency through automation, and leveraging emerging technologies such as AI and data analytics to support the company’s expanding renewable energy portfolio.
A management graduate from the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode and an engineering graduate in Electronics and Telecommunications, Mittal brings deep technical and strategic expertise. His career highlights include successful implementation of SAP S/4HANA platforms, AI-driven applications, and enterprise-wide transformation programs.
Mittal has also been widely recognized in the industry, receiving multiple accolades including CIO100 awards and the CIO500 Accelerator X recognition, underscoring his influence in shaping modern enterprise IT landscapes.
His appointment comes at a time when Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy is witnessing strong growth momentum, with expanding project pipelines across domestic and international markets. As the company scales its operations, the CIO role is expected to play a critical part in enabling agility, resilience, and innovation through technology.
With Mittal at the helm of IT, Sterling and Wilson aims to further strengthen its digital backbone and position itself as a technology-driven leader in the global renewable energy sector.
