New Master Supply Agreement with TurboCell positions BorgWarner to meet surging AI‑era power demand with high‑performance, flexible and lower‑emission solutions
In a strategic move that marks its entry into the global data center power market, BorgWarner Inc. has signed a Master Supply Agreement with TurboCell, a subsidiary of infrastructure innovator Endeavour, to supply its new highly modular turbine generator system. The partnership is expected to transform power delivery for AI‑driven data centers and next‑generation microgrid environments.
As hyperscale AI deployments surge worldwide, data centers are grappling with unprecedented energy needs, grid constraints, and complex power quality requirements. BorgWarner’s new turbine generator platform is designed to meet these demands with a versatile architecture suitable for gigawatt‑scale AI campuses, backup and prime power applications, dynamic response to transient loads, and compliance with future stringent emission norms.
The system leverages several of BorgWarner’s core engineering strengths including turbocharging, thermal management, high‑speed rotating systems, advanced controls, and power electronics while enabling fuel flexibility, including natural gas, propane, diesel, and hydrogen. The company expects to control around 65% of the system’s content through its vertically integrated supply chain and global manufacturing capabilities.
Joseph Fadool, President and CEO of BorgWarner, described the product as a defining opportunity for the company’s future growth.
“This product innovation is a powerful representation of the BorgWarner team proactively identifying and seizing growth opportunities. With capabilities that address the power and energy needs of data centers and microgrids, we see this solution opening avenues for further profitable growth while supporting our vision of a clean, energy‑efficient world.”
TurboCell’s CEO and Endeavour founder, Jakob Carnemark, emphasized the market urgency.
“We developed the TurboCell system to supply the dynamic, demand‑responsive power required to accelerate AI infrastructure development. With BorgWarner’s engineering scale and global supply chain, we can deliver the next generation of on‑site power that unlocks the full potential of AI compute.”
Production of the turbine generator system is expected to begin in 2027 at BorgWarner’s facility in Hendersonville, North Carolina, with an initial installed capacity of 2 GW. TurboCell will be available exclusively through Endeavour’s Edged Infrastructure division.
