As India marks a decade of the Digital India mission, Indus Towers Limited, one of the world’s largest telecom infrastructure companies, has announced a milestone in its flagship CSR initiative, DigiShiksha, having digitally empowered over 1.36 lakh individuals across India.

Launched in 2018 under the company’s CSR program ‘Saksham’, the Digital Transformation Van (DTV) has reached underserved communities in Delhi, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha. The initiative provides doorstep access to digital literacy, IT skills, financial education, and cybersecurity awareness — enabling people from diverse backgrounds, including women, farmers, senior citizens, and youth, to participate meaningfully in India’s digital economy.

“Technology can be a powerful equalizer—and our Digital Transformation Van embodies this belief by taking learning to the doorstep of those left behind in the digital revolution,” said Neeti Wahi, Chief Digital & Information Officer, Indus Towers.

The solar-powered 21-seater van is a mobile digital classroom, equipped with computers, printers, high-speed internet, and e-learning tools. Operated in partnership with the NIIT Foundation, the DTV delivers personalized sessions led by trained instructors. Its programs also extend beyond technology education to include awareness on digital safety, environmental conservation, and waste management.

Notably, more than 50% of DigiShiksha’s beneficiaries are women, reinforcing Indus Towers’ commitment to inclusive digital growth and gender empowerment. The company’s approach distinguishes itself from conventional CSR programs by bringing education directly to remote areas, ensuring access where it’s most needed.

“The Digital Transformation Van initiative reflects Indus Towers’ belief that digital literacy is not just about access to technology but about empowerment and opportunity,” said Wahi.

With a portfolio of over 256,000 telecom towers across all 22 telecom circles, Indus Towers continues to extend its role beyond connectivity—bridging India’s digital divide and contributing to the nation’s long-term vision of inclusive growth.
