New Relic Appoints Brian Emerson as Chief Product Officer

Former ServiceNow executive to drive product innovation and AI-first observability strategy

Bangalore, India: Intelligent Observability leader New Relic has appointed Brian Emerson as its new Chief Product Officer (CPO), marking a key leadership addition aimed at strengthening its innovation roadmap and accelerating AI-driven product development.

Emerson brings over 25 years of experience in enterprise software and cloud platforms, with a proven record of scaling business operations and driving product transformation. Prior to joining New Relic, he served as Group Vice President & General Manager at ServiceNow, where he grew its IT Operations Management (ITOM) business ninefold and made it one of the company’s fastest-growing divisions. His earlier leadership roles at VMware, BMC Software, and Remedy helped shape some of the industry’s most trusted enterprise solutions.

As CPO, Emerson will oversee New Relic’s product management and innovation strategy, reporting directly to CEO Ashan Willy. He will spearhead the development of new capabilities, partner integrations, and AI-driven features for the company’s Intelligent Observability Platform, which serves more than 85,000 customers globally.

In the past year, New Relic has launched over 25 product innovations enhancing visibility across infrastructure, applications, and AI pipelines. The company was also recognized as a Leader in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Observability Platforms for the 13th consecutive year, underscoring its strength in delivering proactive, intelligent observability.
