NEC Security, a subsidiary of NEC Corporation, has been awarded the cybersecurity services contract for GREEN×EXPO 2027 (International Horticultural Expo 2027, Yokohama, Japan). The event, themed “Scenery of the Future for Happiness,” is expected to attract around 15 million visitors between March 19 and September 26, 2027, making robust digital protection essential.
As one of the world’s largest A1 International Horticultural Exhibitions — the highest category approved by the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) and recognized by the Bureau International des Exhibitions (BIE) — GREEN×EXPO 2027 will rely heavily on secure, uninterrupted digital operations. NEC Security was selected for its proven expertise in protecting large-scale international events, government systems, and critical infrastructure.
“Cybersecurity is now as critical as physical infrastructure in delivering safe, seamless global events. NEC Security will ensure GREEN×EXPO 2027 operates without disruption and sets a benchmark for secure international exhibitions.”
The company will deliver a full suite of cybersecurity services, including real-time security monitoring, vulnerability management, incident response, and operational support such as system development, risk assessment, and cybersecurity training.
NEC Security’s competitive edge lies in its advanced Security Operations Center (SOC) capabilities, bolstered by AI-driven threat intelligence and global expertise from the NEC Group. It is also preparing to launch a new Cyber Intelligence and Operations Center in late FY2025, which will combine proactive cyberattack detection with response capabilities.
Its team of highly skilled professionals holds top global certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, and CISA, and has a strong track record in cyber defense exercises for government and critical infrastructure operators worldwide.
By securing GREEN×EXPO 2027, NEC Security reinforces its mission to provide safe, secure, and reliable digital infrastructure for global enterprises and high-profile international events. The project will not only safeguard visitors and participants but also highlight Japan’s commitment to cybersecurity resilience on the world stage.
