Snowflake Unveils Cortex AI for Financial Services to Deliver Enterprise-Ready AI at Scale

Snowflake has launched Cortex AI for Financial Services, a purpose-built suite of AI tools designed to help financial institutions unify fragmented data, accelerate insights, and deploy AI securely. Alongside this, Snowflake introduced its Managed Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server, now in public preview, enabling enterprises to connect proprietary and third-party data with AI agents and applications seamlessly.

Cortex AI empowers financial organizations to handle complex use cases such as risk modeling, quantitative research, fraud detection, claims management, and customer service. Key features include the Data Science Agent, which automates data preparation and model prototyping; Cortex AISQL, which extracts insights from unstructured data like transcripts, research, and images; and Snowflake Intelligence, a conversational interface (in preview) for business users to access insights in natural language.

“By bringing AI directly to where their data already lives and enabling secure interoperability with remote agents, Snowflake is making it easier for highly-regulated industries like financial services to power business-critical use cases.”

— Baris Gultekin, VP of AI, Snowflake

To strengthen this ecosystem, Snowflake is partnering with major data providers including FactSet, MSCI, Nasdaq eVestment®, CB Insights, Deutsche Börse, The Associated Press, and The Washington Post. This ensures enterprises can integrate high-quality financial content and research directly into their AI workflows.

The new MCP Server extends these capabilities by offering interoperability across agentic AI platforms such as Anthropic, CrewAI, Cursor, Devin by Cognition, Salesforce’s Agentforce, and Windsurf. This allows organizations to connect governed Snowflake data with external AI agents, eliminating the need for custom integrations and accelerating adoption.

Industry partners welcomed the launch. Jonathan Pelosi, Head of Industry, Financial Services at Anthropic, said: “Enterprises are moving from AI pilots to production, but securely connecting AI to proprietary data has been a critical barrier. Our partnership with Snowflake helps solve this by using MCP to connect governed data directly to Claude.”

With Cortex AI and the MCP Server, Snowflake is positioning itself as a secure, scalable, and interoperable AI hub for the financial services sector, helping institutions move from experimentation to enterprise-ready deployment.
