Built in Kumbakonam, the made‑in‑India ERP platform helps fast‑growing businesses scale without legacy costs and complexity

Zoho has unveiled Zoho ERP, an AI‑native, made‑in‑India enterprise resource planning platform designed to help fast‑growing Indian businesses scale without the rigidity, overhead and consultant‑heavy implementation cycles associated with legacy ERP systems. In a move that underscores Zoho’s commitment to decentralization and rural tech development, the company launched the product from Kumbakonam, a small town in Tamil Nadu’s Thanjavur district, where a significant portion of the Zoho ERP team is based.

As Indian enterprises evolve beyond basic financial tools, many struggle to adopt traditional ERP platforms that are complex, expensive and poorly integrated with modern cloud-native systems. Zoho ERP was purpose-built to address these gaps, offering a unified, customizable and cost-effective alternative with deep AI integration.

“Zoho ERP is proof that world‑class deep‑tech can rise from rural India and compete globally.”

The platform’s low‑code and no‑code capabilities allow organizations to implement and tailor workflows without relying on third‑party consultants, significantly reducing deployment time and total cost of ownership. Unlike legacy ERPs where AI is bolted on, Zoho ERP embeds continuous intelligence at its core powering AI-driven customization, automation, predictive analytics, anomaly detection, and voice-based assistance through Ask Zia.

“With Zoho ERP, we have built a powerful, compliance‑ready platform that serves as a strong homegrown alternative to global ERP solutions,” said Shailesh Davey, CEO, Zoho Corp. “This product requiring deep-tech R&D has been developed with talent from Kumbakonam, and its future growth will also be driven from here. By creating opportunities locally, we’re reversing talent drain and advancing nation-building through swadeshi technology from rural India.”

Zoho’s new ERP also features built‑in local compliance engines for tax and payroll, aligning with Zoho’s broader vision of connecting fintech, banking and business software for unified financial operations.

“We’ve designed Zoho ERP with the reality of modern, high‑growth businesses in mind,” added Sivaramakrishnan Iswaran, Global Head of Finance and Operations BU at Zoho. “It delivers an intuitive, role-based experience that enhances productivity and operational efficiency end-to-end.”
