India’s digital economy is entering a new phase, powered by AI, 5G, and IoT. In a major move to drive enterprise innovation, Vi Business—the enterprise arm of Vodafone Idea—has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) to launch the Vi Business IoT Innovation Lab in Mumbai.

The Lab will serve as a collaborative hub for enterprises, start-ups, and device makers to design, test, and scale industry-ready IoT solutions. Use cases span connected vehicles, smart manufacturing, enterprise automation, BFSI, logistics, retail, utilities, governance, healthcare, and smart cities.

With the Vi Business IoT Innovation Lab, we are orchestrating the right ecosystem for start-ups and enterprises to design future-ready solutions. Together with AWS and C-DOT, we aim to transform India’s IoT landscape, empowering businesses to innovate faster and scale securely,” said Arvind Nevatia, Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Vodafone Idea Ltd.

The Lab features demonstrations of connected vehicles, energy optimization through smart grids, and real-time monitoring in smart manufacturing. By combining Vi’s robust connectivity, AWS’s global cloud and AI capabilities, and C-DOT’s standards expertise, enterprises can accelerate time-to-market, reduce costs, and ensure interoperability.

Through this collaboration, AWS and Vi are helping businesses and start-ups bring next-generation IoT solutions to market,” added V.G. Sundar Ram, Head of Business Development, AWS India & South Asia.

Highlighting the standards-driven approach, Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay, CEO, C-DOT, noted: “By embedding oneM2M standards into the Lab, we are ensuring interoperability, security, and scalability, making India’s IoT ecosystem trusted and future-ready.

With India’s IoT device market projected to grow from $2.89 billion in 2024 to $10.28 billion by 2030, the Lab is poised to act as a launchpad for start-ups and enterprises to build scalable, secure, and transformative IoT applications.
