Vertiv Launches Training Academy and Technology Excellence Center in Pune

The new facility aims to equip next-generation data center professionals with practical skills, hands-on learning, and innovation-driven expertise to meet the growing global demand for digital infrastructure talent.

In a move that underscores its long-term commitment to workforce development and technological advancement, Vertiv, a global leader in critical digital infrastructure, has launched the Vertiv Training Academy and Technology Excellence Center at its Integrated Business Services (IBS) hub in Pune, India. The new facility is designed to empower the next generation of data center engineers, partners, and practitioners through immersive, hands-on training and real-world simulations.

The center will serve as a global learning and innovation hub, combining advanced engineering laboratories, R&D facilities, and live equipment demonstrations. Trainees will gain practical experience with Vertiv’s portfolio of power systems, cooling architectures, CDUs, UPS modules, and monitoring technologies, all replicated under real operating conditions. The goal, Vertiv says, is to bridge the skills gap in an industry rapidly transforming due to AI, automation, and hyperscale data center expansion.

Ryan Jarvis, Vice President of Vertiv’s Global Services Business Unit, emphasized India’s growing importance in the company’s international operations. “India is an integral part of the Vertiv global services ecosystem, enabling us to deliver consistent excellence and agility to customers worldwide. The launch strengthens our ability to scale capabilities and embed best practices across regions,” he noted.

“With the surge in AI investments in the data center space, we expect a significant demand for a skilled, adapted, and updated workforce. This training academy will play a pivotal role in training and upskilling engineers and customers to design and service both new and existing data centers,”

said Subhasis Majumdar, Managing Director, Vertiv India.

The Technology Excellence Center—a core component of the Pune facility—houses advanced engineering and R&D labs focused on testing, validation, and optimization of Vertiv’s power and thermal management solutions. These innovations aim to enhance energy efficiency, reliability, and sustainability across data centers and telecom networks.

David Yao, Senior Director of the Pune Hub at Vertiv, highlighted the center’s broader mission. “This initiative lays the foundation for equipping technical talent not just within Vertiv, but also for global partners and customers who rely on us for mission-critical infrastructure. By combining experienced trainers with live systems and advanced labs, we are advancing the skills needed for high-density data center environments,” he said.

The academy features five dedicated training bays that cover Vertiv’s core product pillars. Participants engage in modular, evolving courses aligned with Vertiv’s product roadmap and international best practices. This ensures that learners—from engineers to business partners—develop the capability to implement Vertiv’s standards of reliability, safety, and operational efficiency in real-world environments.

Beyond skill-building, the facility also represents a key part of Vertiv’s global Hub/IBS strategy, focused on continuous improvement, digital innovation, and developing a high-performance culture. Pune, already a major global delivery hub for Vertiv, will now also function as the company’s learning and innovation nucleus for critical infrastructure technologies.

With the digital economy surging and AI reshaping the data center landscape, Vertiv’s new academy marks a timely and strategic investment. It positions India as a central node in the company’s global capability-building framework—strengthening both its local talent base and international service excellence.
