UiPath Partners with Microsoft to Strengthen Security and Trust in Automated Workflows

UiPath

UiPath has announced a major expansion of its security automation capabilities through a new collaboration with Microsoft, aimed at helping enterprises protect automated workflows and accelerate security operations. The integration connects UiPath’s agentic automation platform with Microsoft’s security ecosystem, including Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, and Microsoft Security Copilot.

The joint solution enables organisations to automate detection, enrichment, and response actions for threats emerging within automated business processes an increasingly critical requirement as enterprises scale automation across departments.

“This collaboration brings security automation closer to where work actually happens embedding protection directly into operational workflows.”

Andrei Oros, Director of IT Automation, UiPath

UiPath said the integration ensures that security operations centers (SOCs) gain deeper context into alerts, correlating threat signals with the business workflows they originate from. This enrichment helps analysts accelerate investigations, reduce mean time to resolve (MTTR), and minimise operational disruption.

“This collaboration brings security automation closer to where work actually happens,” said Andrei Oros, Director of IT Automation at UiPath. “By combining UiPath automation with Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, and Security Copilot, enterprises can embed security controls into everyday processes and adopt automation with greater confidence.”

Microsoft highlighted the importance of embedding context-aware automation into security workflows. “UiPath’s integration with Microsoft fuses automation with built-in security and governance empowering human-in-the-loop decisions and accelerating detection and response,” said Ruthy Kaidar, Managing Director Solutions, Software Companies, Microsoft EMEA.

“Automation enriched with business context and built‑in governance enables enterprises to scale agentic automation with confidence.”

Through the integration, files and signals generated within automated workflows can be scanned automatically in Microsoft Defender for Cloud, enriched with workflow context, and forwarded to Microsoft Sentinel. Analysts can then use Microsoft Security Copilot for guided analysis, while UiPath robots carry out follow‑up actions such as quarantining files, pausing workflows or escalating incidents.

“Security teams need solutions that move at the speed of modern threats,” added Steven Spirou, Senior Product Manager, Microsoft Security. “UiPath’s work with Microsoft Sentinel and Security Copilot demonstrates how partners can extend the platform with automation for faster, more effective response.”

The new capability will be available through the UiPath Solutions Marketplace, allowing organisations to easily deploy and operationalize UiPath-powered security automation within their existing Microsoft security investments
