TCS

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a global leader in IT services and digital transformation, has renewed and expanded its partnership with Weatherford International through a five-year agreement aimed at driving enterprise-wide transformation powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and automation.

The renewed collaboration marks a new chapter in the seven-year relationship between the two companies. TCS will now play a larger role in helping Weatherford, a leading global oilfield services provider, streamline operations across finance, supply chain, and human resources using advanced AI-led solutions.

As part of this expanded engagement, TCS will implement intelligent automation tools to optimize key business processes, reduce operational costs, and enhance scalability. TCS will also offer strategic advisory services, supporting Weatherford’s digital transformation goals and enabling it to become more agile, innovative, and resilient in a dynamic energy landscape.

Girish Saligram, President and CEO, Weatherford International, said: “With the energy sector evolving rapidly, this renewed partnership with TCS is a strategic step towards embedding AI-driven solutions into our operations. It will help us improve efficiency, foster innovation, and ensure sustainable growth while continuing to deliver unmatched value to our customers.”

Over the course of their relationship, TCS has delivered measurable results, including a 50% reduction in Weatherford’s total cost of ownership across shared service functions. This performance has laid a strong foundation for the expanded engagement, which will now follow an outcome-based delivery model focused on innovation and business value realization.

Debashis Ghosh, President – Lifesciences, Healthcare, Energy & Resources, Utilities and Public Services at TCS, added: “This renewal is a testament to the deep trust we’ve built with Weatherford over the years. Our AI-led solutions and advisory capabilities are designed to empower their teams with simplified processes, real-time insights, and scalable digital infrastructure.”

TCS, which partners with four of the top five global oilfield service providers, brings cross-domain expertise spanning consulting, ERP, cloud, cybersecurity, and application services. This partnership reaffirms its commitment to helping energy clients navigate complexity with speed and confidence.

As the energy sector accelerates its digital evolution, the TCS–Weatherford partnership stands out as a model for leveraging AI and technology to drive meaningful, long-term business transformation.
