Sophos Named a Leader in IDC MarketScape for XDR Software 2025

Sophos

Sophos, a global leader in cybersecurity solutions, has been named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Extended Detection and Response (XDR) Software 2025 Vendor Assessment. The recognition highlights Sophos’ prevention-first strategy, AI-native platform, and adaptive security capabilities.

The milestone follows Sophos’ acquisition of Secureworks earlier this year, which saw Sophos Endpoint natively integrated with Taegis XDR and MDR. This integration delivers unified, cost-effective cybersecurity, enabling organizations to detect and respond to threats faster while simplifying operations.

The IDC MarketScape report cited Sophos’ extensive protection capabilities, including host-based firewall, IDS/IPS, DLP, device control, encryption, and antimalware. It also praised Sophos’ Adaptive Attack Protection, introduced in 2023, which automatically enforces protective measures during active, “hands-on-keyboard” attacks.

“Being named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape for XDR is powerful recognition of our strategy to deliver intelligent, adaptive, and integrated cybersecurity.”

– Kyle Falkenhagen, SVP, Product Management, Sophos

“Sophos XDR empowers organizations to detect and respond to threats faster with AI-driven workflows, deep ecosystem integrations, and a unified platform that scales from SMBs to enterprises,” said Kyle Falkenhagen, SVP of Product Management at Sophos. “This recognition validates our prevention-first approach, which combines detection, response, and adaptive defenses into a single, resilient solution.”

IDC Research Vice President Chris Kissel noted that the integration of Taegis XDR “adds heft to Sophos’ existing capabilities and accelerates engineering cycles for future innovation.”

Sophos XDR provides organizations with advanced tools to identify and neutralize threats across the IT environment through an open, AI-powered platform. Key capabilities include automated defenses such as endpoint isolation and ransomware rollback, identity threat detection and response, and an embedded AI assistant that simplifies investigations.

This latest recognition adds to Sophos’ industry accolades, including Gartner “Customers’ Choice” for XDR, MDR, and Endpoint Protection, G2 Leader rankings, and a 2025 Frost & Sullivan MDR leadership citation.

By uniting prevention, detection, and response under one platform, Sophos continues to position itself as a trusted partner for enterprises seeking to reduce risk and stay ahead of evolving cyber threats.

Recognition underscores Sophos’ prevention-first, AI-native approach and integration of Secureworks Taegis XDR
