Palo Alto Networks Unveils Cortex Cloud for Real-Time Security

– Lee Klarich, Chief Product Officer, Palo Alto Networks

Palo Alto Networks has launched Cortex Cloud, a next-generation AI-powered security platform designed to stop cloud attacks in real time. By merging Prisma Cloud and Cortex CDR, the new solution provides cloud detection and response (CDR) alongside cloud-native application protection (CNAPP)—giving security teams a unified, automated approach to cloud security.

“Security must evolve beyond traditional approaches to keep up with the growing complexity of cloud threats.” – Lee Klarich, Chief Product Officer, Palo Alto Networks

Research from Unit 42 shows that 80% of security exposures exist in the cloud, with a 66% rise in targeted attacks. Traditional security tools struggle to keep up, but Cortex Cloud integrates AI-driven automation to detect vulnerabilities, prioritize risks, and respond instantly reducing manual work for security teams.

The platform enhances application security, cloud posture management, and real-time threat prevention while streamlining Security Operations Center (SOC) workflows.

Melinda Marks, cybersecurity expert at Enterprise Strategy Group, explains: “Security teams need a seamless way to manage risk and respond quickly. By unifying security operations, Cortex Cloud empowers teams to take action faster and reduce threats before they escalate.”

With AI-powered insights, automated workflows, and end-to-end protection, Cortex Cloud is a game-changer for cloud security, helping businesses stay ahead of evolving cyber threats.
