New 205,167 MWh supply from ISTS solar-wind hybrid projects to cut Nxtra emissions by 149,156 tCO₂e annually
Nxtra by Airtel has further deepened its green energy strategy by signing a new power wheeling agreement with AMPIN Energy Transition to source an additional 205,167 MWh of clean energy annually through Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) solar-wind hybrid projects. This move is expected to cut carbon emissions by approximately 149,156 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent (tCO₂e) every year.
The expanded partnership brings Nxtra’s total renewable energy sourcing from AMPIN to over 200 MW, positioning it as India’s most sustainable data centre network. The new capacity will be delivered in two phases from hybrid projects located in Rajasthan and Karnataka, significantly expanding Nxtra’s access to large-scale clean power.

Nxtra, now a member of the RE100 initiative, is accelerating its SBTi-aligned Net Zero goals, with renewable energy forming a core component of its emissions-reduction strategy.
