Investment marks company’s largest GenAI expansion with Aura Agent, MCP Server, and support for 1,000 AI-native startups worldwide.
Neo4j, the world’s leading graph intelligence platform, has announced a $100 million investment to solidify its role as the default knowledge layer for agentic systems and generative AI (GenAI). The investment will fuel product innovation, including two new offerings — Neo4j Aura Agent and Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server — while also funding one of the largest startup programs for AI-native companies, supporting more than 1,000 startups globally over the next year.
The move comes as enterprises struggle to move GenAI from pilot to production. MIT research shows 95% of GenAI pilots fail, often due to lack of memory, context, and reasoning. Neo4j addresses these challenges by embedding contextual learning, persistent memory, and explainable outcomes into AI systems.
“Agentic systems are the future of software, and graph technology is the backbone they need.”
– Emil Eifrem, Co-Founder & CEO, Neo4j
“Agentic systems need contextual reasoning, persistent memory, and accurate, traceable outputs, all of which graph technology is uniquely designed to deliver,” said Emil Eifrem, CEO, Neo4j.
Neo4j Aura Agent, now in early access, enables enterprises to build and deploy AI agents directly on their data within minutes, offering automated orchestration and AIOps for graph-based knowledge retrieval. MCP Server, available in Q4, integrates graph-based memory and reasoning into any agent or AI application, supporting natural language querying and persistent memory.
The company also launched a Startup Program, providing cloud credits, technical enablement, and go-to-market support. Early members include Firework, Mem0, Rivio, and Hyperlinear.
Neo4j’s expansion comes on the back of 84 Fortune 100 customers, revenue surpassing $200 million in 2024, and rapid growth across GenAI deployments at companies like Uber, Walmart, and Daimler Truck.
Board director Patrick Pichette, former CFO of Google, said: “Neo4j is transforming how enterprises turn data into knowledge, which is essential for AI to work at scale. This investment reflects our conviction that Neo4j is building a generational company.”
