ManageEngine, the enterprise IT management division of Zoho Corporation, has expanded its unified endpoint management and security platform, Endpoint Central, with the addition of Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) and Secure Private Access capabilities. The enhancements strengthen the platform’s ability to deliver autonomous endpoint security through AI‑powered threat detection, automated remediation, and Zero Trust access enforcement based on device trust verification.
As organizations increasingly operate distributed workforces and diverse device fleets, endpoints have become both the center of IT operations and a prime target for cyberattacks. Many enterprises still rely on disjointed tools for endpoint management, security and remote access leaving gaps that sophisticated, AI‑driven threats can exploit. Traditional VPN‑based access models worsen the risk by granting broad network access once credentials are verified.
“We’re helping enterprises shift from reactive security to autonomous resilience.”
— Mathivanan Venkatachalam, Vice President, ManageEngine
Industry experts note that enterprises are now moving toward integrated, AI‑enabled platforms that unify endpoint management, threat defense, and secure access. “Endpoint security has become a speed problem: enterprises need to detect and contain threats earlier while enforcing Zero Trust access when credentials are compromised,” said Chirag Mehta, vice president and principal analyst at Constellation Research. “Bringing EDR together with device‑trust‑based access controls helps shrink attacker dwell time and reduce the blast radius.”
With the new enhancements, Endpoint Central consolidates endpoint intelligence, access control, and incident response within a single, natively built platform. A unified lightweight agent enables cross‑domain telemetry correlation accelerating detection, investigation, and remediation through workflows such as patch deployment, device isolation, ransomware rollback, and configuration hardening.
According to ManageEngine, the evolution of endpoint environments demands a more proactive defense posture. “As enterprise environments become more distributed, the endpoint has become the enforcement point for both threat detection and access control,” said Mathivanan Venkatachalam, vice president at ManageEngine. “With these capabilities, we’re helping organizations shift from reactive security to autonomous resilience enabling earlier threat detection, faster remediation, and secure access for trusted devices.”
Endpoint Central has continued to gain industry validation, earning AV‑Comparatives’ Approved Business Product certification and recognition in Gartner and IDC assessments.
The new capabilities are available immediately as an add‑on to Endpoint Central. More information and a free trial are available at: https://mnge.it/EDR
